Economist in Mali
Isidore joined the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Mali in 2020 at the height of multiple crises – two coups and the COVID-19 pandemic. One of his first tasks was to coordinate various UN entities to put in place an Integrated Support Plan for the Transitional Government to continue implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2020-2024) signed by the previous government. Isidore also coordinated the UN entities in producing the assessment of the socio-economic impacts of COVID-19 in Mali in close linkages with the National Development Plan and the Agenda 2063 of the African Union, and supported the Government, together with the UN entities, in developing a monitoring framework of the National Development Plan.
Isidore helped design and implement the Joint SDG Fund programme “Financing Human Capital Development in Mali”, which created a foundation for the UN to assist the government to begin the establishment of the Integrated National Financing Framework (INFF). Through the Voluntary National Review process that he and the UN country team supported the Government on, Isidore also engaged the private sector to increase financial support to accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly on goals related to health, education, energy, job, innovations and partnerships.
