Head of the Resident Coordinator's Office in Zambia
Maria Teixeira is the Head of the Resident Coordinator’s Office (RCO) in Zambia.
She, together with the RCO team, was key in the successful elaboration and launch of the new UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023-2027) of Zambia, which is fully aligned with the country’s 8th National Development Plan. Maria ensured that the process was inclusive, with extensive consultations with people with disabilities, youth, women and other target groups, to Leave No One Behind. She also helped reshape the UN country team in Zambia to best deliver the new Cooperation Framework. As a result, the new UN country team in Zambia is now better equipped to support national responses to the global crisis.
Prior to her current position, Maria served 1.5 years in Equatorial Guinea in the same capacity, where she supported the set-up of the new Resident Coordinator’s Office.
