Partnerships Officer in Argentina
Pablo Basz, the Partnerships Officer in the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Argentina, plays a key role in enabling the UN to help this upper middle-income country address serious obstacles in accessing development finance. Pablo supports the Resident Coordinator in the implementation of a Partnership and Financing for Development strategy that promotes a greater alignment of national resources with development objectives, and supporting the government’s engagement on such matters in diverse international fora. Pablo also plays a key role in helping the UN convene key stakeholders to promote national and provincial ownership of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the adoption of mechanisms to align local public budgets with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Pablo supports the Resident Coordinator’s role in bringing UN entities and external partners together on key joint programmes: for instance, the socio-economic response to the COVID-19, with focus on comprehensive care policies from a gender and intersectional perspective, ensuring a critical focus on care for elderly people and people with disabilities through civil society organizations and care cooperatives.
