Setting and Monitoring Sustainable Development Priorities in Zambia

In Zambia, the UN Resident Coordinator has convened agencies across the UN country team together to support the Government develop its 8th National Development Plan, a key framework which identifies the strategic priorities that will enhance Zambia’s economic development and advance progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

By harnessing the expertise and capacities of the different UN agencies into one collective approach, the Resident Coordinator has strengthened the UN’s support to the national authorities in multiple areas, including for example, through the development of baseline indicators to help the Government monitor national progress towards the SDGs.
