Supporting Bhutan’s response to the pandemic

With an aerial view of all UN agencies, funds and programmes in Bhutan, and a thorough understanding of the Government’s national priorities, the Resident Coordinator has ensured that the UN country team provides targeted, joint support for sustainable development, in line with national plans, also bringing together a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including academia, civil society and International Financial Institutions. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic for example, the UN country team worked side by side with the Government and relevant partners, and vaccinated almost 100% of all eligible adults and children, set up online educational learning systems and supported efforts for mental health.
