Stories of Success: UN Teams bag Annual Results Report Awards
New York, 14 November – For the past five years, Resident Coordinators and their teams have boosted transparency, accountability, and the impact of the UN’s development efforts at the country level, with the number of UN teams producing results reports jumping from 64 per cent in 2018 to 100 per cent in 2022.
This week, as Resident Coordinators gathered in New York for their annual Global Meeting, they also celebrated 26 award-winning reports across five regions. The respective Resident Coordinators took home prizes for excellence ranging from storytelling and data-driven results reporting to creative communications to showcase UN results in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals.
Held for the second consecutive year, the Annual Results Reports Awards recognizes UN teams’ steady efforts on the ground to position the UN’s return on investments on the ground and demonstrate tangible impacts in accelerating support to Governments, policies, investments, and programmes for people and planet.
Speaking at the Award Ceremony, UN DCO’s Deputy Director Rosemary Kalapurakal said, "We have all come a long way in our efforts to provide full visibility to the work of the UN in countries and of the RC system, in particular, through evidence-based, data-centric and creative ways. Behind the RC’s recognition here today there is a hard-working team in each Resident Coordinator Office working hand-in-hand with UN teams.”

At a time of uncertainty, global shocks and increasing cuts to development funding, UN country teams, under the leadership of the Resident Coordinators, have a greater imperative to not just ensure that collective impact is delivered on the ground, but to ensure these results reach different audiences, through the most strategic and compelling ways, where it matters most.
