Inclusive and equitable quality education can be one of the most strategic investments countries can make to end poverty, boost the economy and ensure gender equality. Yet, globally some 250 million children remain out of school today and thousands of children in low-income countries struggle with basic reading and writing skills.
UN Resident Coordinators, working closely with UN entities and programmes, are bringing about steady transformation in education policies, driving investments towards teachers and infrastructure, leveraging digital technologies and ensuring children and those in marginalized communities are not left behind.
