Head of Resident Coordinator's Office in Serbia
Meet Fioralba Shkodra, who led the Resident Coordinator’s office in her native Albania from 2011 to 2021 and is now applying her skills in the post-reform environment of the Resident Coordinator’s Office in Serbia.
In Albania, Fioralba supported the establishment of the “Albania SDG Acceleration Fund.” Fioralba’s assistance enabled the Resident Coordinator and UN country team’s work with Government to engage over 10 development partners and raise US$27million in 2019-2021 alone, a four-fold increase over the previous period. With the Fund secretariat housed in the Resident Coordinator’s Office, Fioralba’s direction also supported effective and timely response of the UN to unprecedented crises in the country in recent years, including a 2019 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fioralba is similarly supporting joint UN programmes and resource mobilization initiatives in Serbia, including a new UN resource mobilization strategy for the UN Serbia Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2021-2025).
