Data Management Officer in Guatemala
Carmen Aida González Lopez is the Data Management Officer of the Resident Coordinator’s Office in her native Guatemala. She is playing a critical role in helping UN and government data platforms avoid duplication, reduce transaction costs and foster synergies in data management.
As the lead coordinator among UN data focal points for UN INFO, the UN-wide joint programming and monitoring platform, she assures data quality and uses it for monthly snapshots of UN progress in implementing the UN’s development support in the country, the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. The quality of these snapshots and the periodical update on progress in the implementation of the Cooperation Framework convinced national authorities to link UN INFO to the Government’s International Cooperation Management, Implementation and Analysis System (SIGEACI) for real- time and up-to-date information on development progress in the country. Several development partners in the country are also increasingly interested in using UN INFO to access information on UN’s work in the country.
Carmen Aída also leads results-based management training for UN entity focal points who are in charge of monitoring of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework to improve the way UN country team monitors the progress of its activities towards the Sustainable Development Goals in Guatemala.
