Despite the growth of scientific knowledge and evidence, more people than ever are facing the risk of disease and other health-related emergencies. At the same time, the interconnected crises of conflict, climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic have dangerously disrupted access to quality healthcare around the world.
In the face of such challenges, UN Resident Coordinators are working with host Governments to leverage progress and strengthen health systems in the most vulnerable and under-served areas.
